The Victoria International JazzFest is June 21-30! Enter to win a fabulous trip for two!
There's so much to do and see in Victoria. Whether it’s strolling along the causeway in the Inner Harbour, enjoying a whale watching adventure, golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, indulging in award winning West Coast cuisine or attending one of the many Victoria Fesitvals & Events, there are no end of delights. Victoria's attractions add up to a trip that's nothing short of spectacular – in fact, this wonderful city was included in the Top 10 Canadian Family Vacations in TripAdvisor’s 2011 Travelers' Choice awards.
Whether you're planning a Victoria weekend getaway or a longer trip, any first-time visit to Victoria should always include some of the city's renowned sites and experiences. It is with good reason that the Parliament building and the Fairmont Empress Hotel are the two most photographed buildings in British Columbia. If you spend any time on the waterfront, you can't miss them as their aristocratic presence dominate the harbour front.

Parliament is especially spectacular as evening approaches; its entire façade is outlined with 3,300 lights and creates a wonderful spectacle as it reflects off the still harbor waters. The illumination is a tradition that started in 1897 with the celebration of Queen Victoria's diamond Jubilee (60 years as queen).
The majestic Fairmont Empress Hotel invites you inside for its traditional afternoon tea, cocktails, dinner or even a few nights - stay. One of the quintessential Victoria experiences is enjoying the sumptuous Afternoon Tea at the Empress Hotel. While there are many lovely tearooms throughout Victoria, the most famous is at the Empress. While there, you can’t help but marvel at the rich appointments as you walk through the lobby. It’s easy to imagine the kings, queens and movie stars who also walked these floors.
And then there are the world famous “The Butchart Gardens”. About 14 miles from Victoria, the gardens display more than a million plants throughout the year. On summer evenings, the gardens are illuminated with a variety of softly colored lights. June through September, musical entertainment is provided free Monday through Saturday evenings. You can even watch fireworks displays on Saturdays in July and August.
